African Twin Registry

African Twin Registry
One of the foundation’s flagship initiatives is the African Twin Registry, a continent-wide research resource designed to collect and manage data on twins and multiple births across Africa.

The registry will:

  • Document the prevalence and distribution of twins across African regions
  • Support research on genetics, health, and development
  • Improve maternal and child health outcomes
  • Provide evidence to guide healthcare policies and programs

By establishing a reliable database of twins and multiple births, the registry will serve as a critical resource for researchers, healthcare providers, and policymakers.
